Dogs have some intrinsic value as workers and herders and hunters and retrievers.

Pandas have none.

Not a dog stan, just someone who appreciates the merits of both cats and dogs and is sick of people pitting them against each other.

I happen to appreciate both, leaning more towards cats, but a lot of anti-cat dog lovers can be really damn annoying in their dislike of cats.

oh please, don't pretend that the anti-dog cat lovers can't be every bit as annoying about the putative superiority of their pets--especially when they start likening cats to introverts (i.e., themselves) and dogs to extroverts, which they very often do.

I agree that dogs are overrated, if only because dog stans tend to be so OTT and vocal about how great dogs are and how they love their dog more than anything and would die for their dog and they just know their dog would die for them and all of that.

I love most dogs but I do think those little tiny dogs that do nothing but go IPE IPE IPE and shake and piss are massively overrated.
