I learned that NanoWriMo really isn't my thing and that for the past few years I've been trying to make myself, and it only sets me up for disappointment. I decided to quit making myself do it for now, maybe I'll be able to do it someday. but for now I'm just going to have fun with writing.

Which is what I'm doing now. And I like it much better without the pressure. I'm rebuilding an old idea newer and better than ever.

Also having fun in sidestuff just exploring characters interactions and slice of life type stuff.

It's great that you figured that out and are doing what works for you. I'm all about trying different things and seeing what makes writing most productive and enjoyable, and I find it really interesting to see how different everyone is in what works for them.

Pressure doesn't really work for me either but it's weird because I do like these kinds of challenges. It's just that I celebrate succeeding at them without worrying about it if I don't. It honestly doesn't bother me that I didn't finish this year. I'm happy with what I did produce and I'm pretty sure I'll be doing NaNo again next year.
