Not just married, they've got a son too. I personally think they're the most adorable celebrity couple I've ever seen. (I mean, I don't go around following them but everything I've ever seen about them seems to hold up to this assumption). Of course, I'm a fan of them both so I'm glad they can be happy together.

This is kind of how I feel whenever I remember Chris Hemsworth is married. I'm happy that he's happy, but at the same time I'm sad that he's taken. I mean, they are all unattainable for us anyway, but still, it makes the fantasy a bit harder.

I just feel like when people express things like that, they've elevated celebrities to such a degree that they've forgotten that they are also just people, with feelings.

I mean, yes, it was very unlikely, but he is an actual person and as such can have a relationship with another person, regardless of whether that person is a celebrity.

I'll never understand it because my favorite celebrities having good relationships/marriage is one of my favorite things and it gives me a serious case of the happies whenever I see them being cute with their partners

I can sorta see what you mean, but I'm good at compartmentalizing myself.

I can get a little annoyed if the real person is doing something stupid (see: homophobia, etc.), but I try hard not to hold them personally accountable for my alternate (much more shagglikable) version.

I think you might be thinking of Billy Crudup, who did indeed leave his then-pregnant wife for Claire Danes. Hugh Dancy has only been married to Danes.

Are you thinking of Bilky Crudup, whose left his pregnant wife for Danes some years ago? She then broke up with Crudup when she met Dancy. I can't find any reference to a previous marriage of Dancy's.

I have lots of celeb crushes and a large majority of them are married (with kids). I'm used to it by now.

Hugh IS super pretty, seems like a sweet guy, is articulate and has a great accent. (Which I forgot about for awhile after watching Hannibal. I hadn't seen him in much outside of Hannibal before then and was SHOCKED to hear his voice in interviews.)

I understand the appeal (he's great eye-candy, and an amazing actor! At least as Will), but I'm a bit more into Mads. (Who is also married with multiple children. I just enjoy watching him, though; I don't do the whole fantasizing thing unless one of the actors characters is involved.)

You never googled him and saw the big sidebar with her name and all kinds of other info in it? Was this a really short crush, or? I'm sorry, I just don't get how people can be right there on the internet and not look things up, it baffles me every time. It's even more baffling to me than thinking you could have a relationship with someone whose social circle you have no way of entering, or going the other route and getting fannish over these relationships when actor + actor usually = breakup or divorce. Some people like setting themselves up for disappointment, I guess. It's so much more fun to just enjoy someone's work and personality in interviews and how goddamn cute he is with his asymmetry and his accent and his fantastically flexible face without making it this huge personal thing.

I get it, OP. I've had the same thing happen before, albeit with different celebrities. Rationally, I know that I have -100000000% chance with any of them anyway, but... yeah, I don't really understand it. Personally, I feel really guilty about having my fantasies when I discover that they are actually in a relationship, regardless of the fact that they were likely in all sorts of relationships without my knowledge beforehand.

I don't know if it's some sort of guilty "I don't like fantasising about someone else's boyfriend/husband/partner/etc", but I just can't switch that part off, even when it's just fantasies. Them being single makes them 'accessible', them being in relationships makes them 'not accessible'. It doesn't matter the astronomically negligible chance of my ever even meeting them in the first place, my brain just seems to place importance on that fact, despite it changing precisely nothing in practice. Maybe it's also the "I'm fantasizing about this, but there's someone out there who has what I'm fantasizing about" line of thought, I don't know. What is seen cannot be unseen etc.

Well, I mean, I don't look it up because I generally feel like a creeper doing that, but if I happen to know... well, I like them to be happily married than unhappily so.

Most of my fantasies tend towards the characters they play so it's not the end of the world.
