Re: Songs that make you cry
When I was a little kid, I would cry at Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle," and If's "Bread." I can't imagine I knew what they were about at that age, but evidently the music alone just got me.
Sometimes I cry not out of sadness but from being emotionally overwhelmed by really intense or really joyful music, like Mahalia Jackson singing "How I Got Over" or when in church we sang "Be Not Afraid." I have clear memories of anxiously checking the hymn board each week as my family walked into the church to see if "Be Not Afraid"'s number in the missalette (7) was up there. "How Great Thou Art" makes me cry on occasion, too.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-03 03:18 am (UTC)(link)I've had that happen before, too. The song "Have a Little Faith in Me" tends to get me choked up whenever I hear it.
