Re: Annoying names in fiction
I don't write though, and if I did I'm not sure what I would do. The canon names can be boring sometimes, but that doesn't stop the confusion when I see something different.
Re: Annoying names in fiction
(Anonymous) 2015-12-03 04:11 am (UTC)(link)I got into the habit of silly names as a kid with Pokemon and ... never really stopped, haha. It helps that their names are never actually spoken out loud, since I don't think I'd be able to take anything seriously if they were.
And for that same reason, I've never been able to complete a playthrough with a deliberately hilarious/ridiculous-looking character, haha (like, with all of the sliders as extreme as they'll go).
Re: Annoying names in fiction
That's what I try for! I wouldn't name one of my Dragon Age protagonists 'Ashley' or 'John', lol.

Ooo, you should play Fallout 4. Fallout 4 does have a character that will read your player name, and they've recorded some pretty ridiculous ones. (Fuckface, for instance.) I wonder if that would work for you! (If nothing else, it would be entertaining.)
Oh god, I couldn't either. I don't even attempt to make hilarious looking characters, I want all my protagonists to look like cuties or super models.
