Text: A holiday exchange this year is the first time I'm joining a fic exchange. I thought it would give me motivation not to procrastinate because not only are people waiting for my finished work, it's something I'm doing for fun.

Even if the writing itself isn't fun, my fondness for the fandom would drive me!

I'm still procrastinating.

I am in the exact same boat right now. I keep telling myself I'm putting it off because I'm busy with work, but I had all day off today and didn't even open my Word document, oops. *fist bump of solidarity, OP*

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I've run exchanges before and I hate it when people join them for self motivation. Motivate yourself some other way, or do NaNoWriMo or something... but don't sign up for an activity where it'll leave other people in the lurch if you procrastinate. Please.

Your logic is similar to my logic: If I join a fic exchange, maybe it will cure my writers block!

However, I don't trust myself enough to actually do it. I actually think the pressure might make it worse. So yeah, the thought crossed my mind, but I didn't do it.

See, I'd be afraid to join a fandom exchange because I know that I would disappoint someone by not producing anything. So even though I'd love to join one, I know it's best not to.
