This. I believe the lines in the sand will disappear and the concept of "stay in your lane" will be looked at as insane and racist.

I certainly hope not. The world would be a much less interesting place if we all melded together into a single giant, culturally homogeneous blob.

I feel like different groups sharing their cultures and making things together would only encourage diversity but yeah okay

This. Misrepresenting a culture can stay bad, though. By which I mean: Tomahawk chop at football games=bad but learning traditional dance is not, for a Native American example

I don't think so, I think people will become more respectful of important, sacred cultural traditions/materials.

But I do think cultures are going to continue to combine and become less distinct, and most people will be mixed race and probably have less ethnic/cultural division.

Thank you. THANK. YOU. Because what I've seen branded as "cultural appropriation" is usually THE CULTURE SHARING WITH OTHERS ANYWAY! Like Dia de los Muertos, Oktoberfest, etc.

Nah. Cultural appropriation is bad, but what gets screamed about on tumblr isn't actually cultural appropriation most of the time.

Taking things that are sacred to another culture and bastardizing them = cultural appropriation, wrong.

Someone learns to cook a food that didn't originate in their culture = not cultural appropriation, not wrong.

Yeah, I really do think we're going to look back on our current attitudes about cultural appropriation and see them as bizarre, nonsensical, and ironically kind of racist.

That's not to say that there are NO instances of so-call cultural appropriation that are actually bad. But generally, when something is actually bad you can tell because you don't need to describe it as cultural appropriation. You can just describe it as racist.
