It's cruel to let people with this disability be able to live because they can only live horrible painful lives and it's better for them not to exist at all to be spared the pain.

Especially when the disorder has a huge spectrum of severity.

Is this the current view, or the future view, that you're presenting?

Yeah, but one would assume there would be better medicine in the future to lt them lead better lives? Obviously that would change things.

I think the opposite is the case. Have you noticed how don't syndrome is getting less and less prevalent, because the fetuses who are diagnosed get aborted? People will get used to that and blame parents who have a child with the syndrome because the cost the system, and omg the poor xhild. Obsession with health and health "choices" is already pretty strong, and it will only get worse, among other things because there's a whole industry of insurance companies and other stuff involved who Wil try to maximize profits.

I think this would depend on the person, and like kallanda said above, how good the medicine is.

I would like to think enough compassion still exists in the world of the future, should people still be diagnosed with untreatable, inoperable conditions that destroy a patient physically and mentally, and in some cases financially. And that's not including their loved ones.
