Here's my tip to you: If you're only writing for people to say that they liked it, you're doing it wrong. Write because you want to write, because you have a good story to tell, and because you enjoy writing. Your life will be a lot less stressful, and those infinite hours will be a lot less grueling.

But if you think most writers won't get discouraged if they wrote a 10.000 words fic and get no feedback at all, you live on a very different plain of existence.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-05 03:27 am (UTC)(link)But the thing is, unless you're writing in a very small fandom, or for a widely hated pairing, if your fic doesn't suck you will get feedback. Maybe not a thrillingly large avalanche of it, but you'll get some.
