Wait are you writing/typing while laying down? If so how?

Seconded. How in the world....?
bur: Mami looking kind of surprised at something off to the side. (Surprised Mami)

If you have a laptop you can type on it while laying down by resting the laptop on your belly. You just need to double-up on pillows to support your upperback/shoulders and neck. It's pretty comfy. I hammered out a couple of NaNo's and many a grad report this way.

Considering how hot my daughter's laptop gets, that doesn't sound comfortable, but maybe they're not all like that?
bur: There was a comic where Daredevil gets, well, gang-beered. And here's a panel. (Daredevil SPLATT)

My older ones made it so my stomach looked like it had permanent sunburn, but the ones I've had lately (those thin, ultraportable types) stay pretty cool. No more burn marks!

I'm amused that the person above actually had to spell it out. It's not rocket science, people. lol

But if OP is propped up how does is the cat sleeping against OP's ear on the pillow? What angle is optimal for that? I use my laptop in bed all the time, but to prop myself up enough to type comfortably makes it impossible for any of my cats to lay in the way OP describes their cat doing. A cat that tried that would either be more on my shoulder than the pillow, or they would have to be behind my head. That's what has me confused.

I have chronic back pain that renders me pretty useless, so much of my life has been devoted to making myself comfortable in my bed-prison lol. I use a laptop pillow in order to prop my laptop up to a comfortable writing position, and my head just lays back as per-usual on a pillow. I bring the screen to me, in essence, not the other way around (leveling my back/head in order to type at a downward angle instead of upwards). My one cat sleeps against my head, and the other takes residence on my genitals. :D

Awww That has to awful. It's great you found a way to use your laptop comfortably.
