I started as MakoHaru in s1 and viewed RinHaru shippers as aggressive. Then I started shipping RinHaru thanks to some side materials and found a lot of sweethearts in that side and noticed they were getting some shit from MakoHaru. So I can safely say both sides have shit stirrers amongst them.

The thing is that since MakoHaru is more popular in Japan it gets a lot more attention merch-wise and also with s2 and the movie, which leaves RinHaru shippers feeling neglected and they are lashing out. Of course there are some MakoHaru relishing in this and refusing to take the high-road.

Right now I am disgusted with both sides and I'm glad I don't care as much about this fandom as I would have a year ago.

RinHaru gets tons of merch too, they have no reason to be lashing out because of this.
