puri puri prisoner is a pretty obvious homophobic stereotype.

yeah, but if I had to stop reading every manga that was homophobic, I honestly wouldn't be able to read a lot of stuff. Seeing a stereotypically flamboyant sexually abusive gay guy or a creepy obsessive evil lesbian in manga isn't exactly surprising anymore, and I'm saying this as a gay person.

Never said it's surprising. Just that it's homophobic. And it is.

yeah, and I'm definitely not denying that. I do wish the genosai shippers would be a little more aware, but, yeah, I'm not going to stop reading/watching bc it is very entertaining.

The fandom is One Punch Man.

The story of the manga is great, the anime adaption has done everything right so far.

I feel like I might've seen the name before, but I know nothing about it except the description used in the secret, which is quite a bit about the dynamics of the main (?) characters.

Didn't realize there was an anime too, though that isn't exactly surprising. Good to know it's a decent one! (They often aren't.)

I love the manga and reading it I started shipping them too.

It's a win-win situation, great story and those two are a joy to ship with each other.

It's fun, but meh the story is pretty generic stuff.

Give it time. It seems to be generic the first 15 or so chapters later the real story kicks in.

Genos' devotion to Saitama got me shipping them.

I told myself I was NOT going to ship genosai when I started watching the anime because my hot cyborg was too good for the weird egg, but, welp, if cyborg cutie likes him so much he can't be that bad....right? right? (nah, I still don't really gaf about saitama. But I ship them for, as anon above said, genos' devotion).

Lol sometimes I think I'm the only person who finds Saitama attractive in this fandom. Like when he's drawn with his normal facial expression and not the whole :> goofy look, he's actually rather good-looking.

Not to mention this fandom may have given me a little bit of a kink for praise where Saitama is concerned. Saitama worrying about his appearance and Genos trying to reassure him without out-and-out just being like "I love you THIS much, lets fuck now Sensei yes?" is unexpectedly completely my jam.

I LOVE him when he's drawn in a normal expression. He's got the most GORGEOUS eyes I swear.
