Re: AO3 Tagging

I hate tumblr style tags on AO3. I love them on Tumblr and always use a ton of them with humorous comments. But on AO3, the tags are designed for searching for fics. I only put ships, characters, and kinks in the tags.

I do too. "I wrote this drunk lol" is an author's note, not a tag.

It is a good way of flagging that the fic is completely worthless and should be skipped over. Almost as good as "Don't like, don't read", or "It is probably bad, read and tell me" or spelling a main character's name wrong. Still more thought in it that "real summary inside" though.

I enjoy them when they come after the actually useful tags that I can use to find the fic. I don't have any logical reason for why they should be there, I just kinda like them.

For the most part I agree. I wouldn't necessarily say I hate them, but I mostly ignore them. What I look for is ships, characters, kinks, warnings, that sort of thing; humorous tags on AO3 don't interest me.
