I don't know, I love my sprite games but there are also things I love about FFX as is.

And I actually think the voice acting in the english dub was decent for some of the characters, they just really needed a better Tidus and Yuna.

I think FFX was the last final fantasy game I legitimately enjoyed (I hear good things about 11 and 14 but I don't do the mmo thing) so I can't complain too much.

Agreed on a better Yuna VA. Tidus I didn't mind so much, but then I assume he was supposed to be hormonal and wanky.

SA True, Tidus you could at least laugh at because he's kind of supposed to be a dork. But I think I mention him because when I think about his scenes with Yuna I cringe.

But otherwise all the team members pretty much worked for me.

Agreed. FFX and FFIX were my favorite FF's. Everything that came after never lived up to the magic.

FFXII was boring politics and I found all the characters dull except Baltier and Fran.

FFXIII was really pretty but again found all the characters dull and the story was pretty dull. The world didn't feel like it had as much heart and fun as the other FF's.

Yes, 9 was also incredible! All the characters were so full of life in that game.

I just haven't felt the stories in the recent games either, not many of the characters are even all that memorable. It's just kind of like "Oh here's pretty cg character 345 zzzzzzzz...."

FFIX is my absolute favorite just for Vivi.

And then there's the music. I'd probably replay the game too just to hear it again.

Did I mention Vivi? Because he's adorable. And needs a lot of hugs.

EVERYTHING for Vivi. I haven't made it a significant goal, but every time I hear any merch centering on Vivi, I am all over it.

I loved FFX, too. I really need to play it again.

There are quite a few FF games I've never played, but of the ones I have FFX is definitely my favorite. (I even had a hell of a lot of fun with FFX-2.)

I genuinely liked Spira, found the sphere grid to be one of the better leveling systems in an RPG, and liked the cast. (Had a HUGE crush on Auron and Lulu, was honestly into the story, and shipped the hell out of the characters.)

FFXII was a decent game imo, but IA about it not having the 'heart' of FFX. FFXIII was absolutely gorgeous, but I never finished it. It wasn't bad by any stretch of (my) imagination, but it didn't exactly captivate me and after my PS3 died (and my files died with it), I didn't have the will to start over.

Everything after that I've taken a pass on. (Okay, not entirely true, I bought XIII-2 for cheap thinking I would eventually complete XIII then play it... that still hasn't happened.)

Hell yes Auron and Lulu both owned in that game. They were both characters I loved and I really liked having them on my team as well.

And I agree about the sphere grid, once I caught on it was a fun way to level. In general it was different enough to create a new challenge to playing but it wasn't so different where it didn't still feel like a classic FF game.

I've played all the games from 1 to 10, then I'm kind of in and out with the newer ones. I feel like the newer ones don't tend to understand what made FF successful and sometimes they try to hard to just make it pretty and don't concentrate enough on the gameplay (apparently that happened with 14 and almost killed the game until someone came in and redid it.)
