Honestly, I reached that point after the first season.

Yeah, I reached that point, too, though I can't remember when it was. Two seasons ago? Whenever the Jamie/Cersei kerfluffle occurred.

I stopped caring about the show, and then realized I had no more fucks to give about the books, either.

That's what did it for me too. I'll still love seasons 1-3. Book wise I really only love the first two.

Yeeeep. I bought the last book, but didn't want to read it once I had it and ended up mostly skimming. Not going to get future books.

The show is easier to keep up with, since it's fast and effortless to watch, yet I still don't really care what happens so who knows if I'll keep following it.

Same for me, I watched up to season 5 then realised that I didn't care anymore. I don't even know why really, I just got bored.

Same. I watched a few eps of S5 but I just don't care. And all the spoilers for the bad shit that happened really ruined me for the show.,

Actually, you know what? Same for me. I tuned into S5E1 with all the hype in the world, then just didn't bother tuning back in.

Perhaps I've just had enough of getting attached to characters before their inevitable deaths. Perhaps it's getting tired of the edgy (no good characters survive). Who knows? But I don't see me tuning back in.
