(Anonymous) 2015-12-09 03:10 am (UTC)(link)I liked Avengers in a "it's enjoyable" kind of way and I don't judge anyone for liking it, but that's not the same as thinking of it as a good movie, which it isn't.
OOC dialogue, Whedon doing his usual thing without any originality or giving a damn about the characters, etc.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-09 04:14 am (UTC)(link)I also thought he did a phenomenal job of giving focus, cohesion, and heart to a film that, in less skilled hands, would have been almost impossible to wrangle into shape.
But then, I don't read graphic novels, of any kind, ever, so I have zero attachment to that side of things, which undoubtedly does make a big difference in how one feels about the movies. For me it's just, "Is this a good film?" To which I answer, unequivocally, yes. I don't care how well or horribly it incorporates comic book canon; for me that's a separate issue. Though I can see how, for invested fans of the comics, it's not a separate issue.
