Awww what a pretty lady she is.

You are welcome to her :(((( I do not mind spiders happily in the wild where they belong. I just don't want them hanging out with a massive web all over my bedroom window.

If I were closer to you I'd come remove her. I don't mind spiders really.

I was at least told that this spider is not dangerous to humans, which calmed me down a bit.

She is a lovely orb weaver! Appears to be a Neoscona crucifera or related species.

Definitely not harmful, and only there to consume your flies. :)

So pick her up in a mason jar with a sheet of paper over the mouth and let her out where she can continue to eat bothersome things for you. :)

I would perform the spider translocation, but alas I am almost certainly not near you.

It's on the outside of a second floor window. I can't really get a mason jar around it without specialized ladder equipment...

Oh, lame. Oh well, learn to enjoy your new neighbour then I guess.
I'm kind of jealous since the only spiders that want to move in with me are giant wolf spiders and a single black widow who has found the colony of flies that were chilling on my Mimosa pudica.

I am feeling very guilty now for wanting to be rid of it :( but it really bugs me when I'm sitting at my desk and that spider is in front of my face.
I've asked the complex pest control to take care of it, though I did specify that I would prefer it moved rather than killed.
If they can come by with a ladder while I'm around, I'll maker sure they jar it and set it free somewhere else.

Understandable. It can take a pretty concerted effort not to be creeped out by something like spiders if you find them creepy.

Spiders are our friends, but they're certainly not the friendliest looking friends lol.

I do appreciate spiders, and I will try to avoid killing them whenever possible. But I am generally not comfy with bugs (or arachnids) too near my living space. The only bugs I will gleefully kill are cockroaches and mosquitoes.
I feel kind of bad for hurting it just because it had the bad luck to decide to move in outside my window.

Well, I mean, compromises are compromises.

I like spiders, and I'll still freak out a bit and accidentally kill/injure one if I find it on me randomly. Mostly because it's an automatic reaction to swat them off me and the poor things are so fragile they wind up losing or breaking limbs without a thread to ease themselves down on.

I'm sure spiderfriend will find another place to forage.

Yeah, this is one of those cases where you're just going to have to put up with it. It'll probably leave after a while. Meanwhile, you can pretend you're Morticia Addams and it's part of your decor.

Maybe they meant to me, since I started the post by not being enthused about the spider? I mean I'm still not enthused, but I didn't mind your comment. I know some people like spiders XD
