Yeah, that was one of my main complaints, too. You've been building up these characters for three movies but when they die-- not just Thorin, but Fili and Kili-- there's no weight to it, no time to mourn their loss. What they should've done was trim some time off the dozens of absurd fight scenes and let people see the aftermath of the battle. Without that, it feels rushed and without closure.
