I have nothing to add to this other than that "shit or get off the pot" is one of my favorite expressions.

Me, too.

And I've always identified with it since I have a certain family member who, if left to their own devices, sits on said pot for 45 minutes - 1 hour. We've timed it.

So yeah, that phrase always comes to mind since it has been quite relevant to my life. :)

(I've been known to sit on the loo for a while with a book, for example, as have some family members of mine - but 45 minutes is reeeally long, dang)
