Eh... would you still feel pretty in corsets and long skirts without having ready access to amenities like hot running water, proper soap, deodorant and shampoo?

That too. In Victorian times they at least had them (as long as you were middle class or richer) but they tended to be one toilet per house, isolated away from living quarters, and people will used chamber pots a lot, so...

One toilet per house has worked just fine in our house for the last 20 years...including bringing up two kids.

Deodorant existed. not in today's form but as talkum powder and perfume. basically the same thing.
and nobody needs shampoo. it's just there so your bathroom doesn't get soapy.
