piece of advice: go ahead and dress like this outside of cosplay. Obviously not at work (not if you have a dress code of any sort), but in private life? Absolutely. Pick the historical-looking stuff that's on the practical side and rock it. Yeah, you'll get a few side eyes, but feeling awesome is worth it.

Seriously, OP! A lot of my clothes are "historical-looking stuff that's on the practical side." Hell, sometimes I dress like a 1860s widow all in black. As long as you are confident in what you wear, fuck it. Do it!

ALL OF THIS, OP. All of it. Confidence ( also, what? It's your life, and you'll only have this one--as far as most can remember) and a little bit if practicality.

I occasionally dress like a pirate or Marie Curie. Some compliment, some don't say anything. I enjoy myself! You should too!

ILU. If I saw someone dressed like Marie Curie I'd probably bounce and flail IRL (I legit do that sometimes, and idc that it's immature). Rock on.

Lol thanks. I usually react similarly when I see someone dressed in such attire.

I think I dressed like her the most when I had a big chemistry exam (I know she was all about physics). I liked to channel my inner Curie, hoping some of her brilliance would rub off on me, centuries and countries apart, lol. She was amazing.

Great advice. I regularly dress in vintage and rockabilly. And I dare to do it as a plus size girl. And IDGAF what anyone thinks.

Wear what makes you feel good, OP.

I sometimes dress like a beatnik or a hippie just because I like it. Wear what you want, OP, you probably look great in it!
