I don't really feel a romantic relationship requires a sexual relationship, so I would love the asexual person without needing them to have sex with me at all. As long as they weren't opposed to cuddling and massages and the like, and were all right with an open relationship of sorts.

The other situation just sounds frustrating for everyone involved.
