Do you guys think fancy soap is a good "I don't know you very well" gift? I found out that my brother's boyfriend is joining our family for Christmas, and I've met him before all of once and know like 2 things about him. I figure, well a nice set of artisan soaps might be nice, since everyone washes their hands and it might as well be nice. Is that a good idea, or is it like... weird, or too personal or something?

I like soap. I don't use much of it, but a nice bar of good quality body soap for Christmas is like, "Sweet! Now I don't have to buy soap for a while!"

Soap is fine. It's the classic "I don't know you but I'm sure you're clean" gift.

I wouldn't mind getting soap from someone I didn't know well but I wouldn't use it unless it was unscented.
