It's better than the boring half-men (like Iceman) or literal rapists (like Gambit) they usually pair her with. Honestly, I wish she would just learn to love herself rather than having these stupid fucking relationships forced on her. The forest thing might help with that, so I think I'm on board.

Lying to women to fuck them. Any "seduction" is pretty close to rape but any seduction based on deceit is rape by deception.

Lying about what? Being a mutant? Or something serious like, being in a relationship, etc. Gray area to me about whether lying about being in a relationship is rape by deception like say... lying about contagious diseases such as HIV/etc would be.

Huh. I assumed that was an anti-Semitic potshot (IDK about the modern version of the character, but Iceman was Jewish back when I was still regularly reading X-Men comics).

Is he really gay now, or is that just fandom speculation? If so, that's cool. I'm always in favour of more queer superheroes.

There's two Icemen right now. One is the younger version brought forward in time and he's gay. The older version is now deeply confused.

Iceman is gay, yes. His mother is Jewish and his dad is Irish Catholic, but he isn't depicted as religious in any way so I doubt they meant that. It's an obscure trivia, not well-known like Kitty being Jewish.

Yeah, but the Iceman one gave us enough to speculate on. The Gambit thing just made me feel lost.

People have shipped much, much weirder.

And it's not like mammal/plant ships are anything new for Marvel fandom. The GotG film gave Rocket/Groot a huge popularity boost.

What issue is this from?

It's from the Ultimate Comics: X-Men run. Can't remember the exact issue, because that entire run was a fucking mess.
