So I sort of get what you're saying - she's a minor character, she's supposed to be just sort of pleasant and even-keeled with maybe some buried angst/rage that's hinted at, and for her to basically trick/kidnap her crush into being along with her for how long was it - weeks?? - and act like it's not a big deal was super jarring.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 04:42 am (UTC)(link)And while it seems creepy, it was also... She was tired of Lars blowing her off all the time, so she panicked and reacted in a bad way.

Actually I might have assumed it was a "time passes differently here" sort of thing, but you're probably right, since that's really not a convention we've seen elsewhere in SU.
Either way, it didn't just "seem" creepy. It WAS creepy. If gender roles were reversed, Sadie would have been thoroughly lambasted by fandom by now, and for good reason. Being sad that your crush blows you off sucks but you aren't entitled to them in ANY way and trapping them with you to force them to give you more attention is horrifyngly bad behavior. (I'm not sure how panic even factors into it...)
