Are you talking about wanting more blue-eyed redheads specifically or any redheads? Because there are probably more main characters with red hair in fiction than there are people in real life. Proportionally, I mean. One of my friends hates her red hair and says she wishes red hair wasn't portrayed as so amazing and desirable in the media.

OP

I'm only butthurt about live action representation. Like animated redheads, or book redheads sure, whatever. But if anything makes that transition from print to screen, the red hair always seems to go. Like only fake red hair can be heroic or pretty.

It may make slightly more sense if I point out that Hellcat and Daredevil both have red hair and blue eyes in the comics, and I've cosplayed them both. Those in my secret are the live action versions. It happens more than I think people tend to notice. It's not a big deal, but white blondes and brunettes are hardly underrepresented on TV and in the movies.

Whoa. The blonde is Patsy? I haven't seen the show, so I didn't know they'd put Patsy in that role. In the comic, I think Carol was Jessica's friend she talked to a lot, an she is yellow-blonde.

OP

Yeah, Patsy was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her role's kind of upgraded from Carol's - they're foster sisters in the live action, and very close. But I also can't understand why they'd darken Matt's hair - his colour scheme is meant to be 'devilish' after all.

They didn't make Matt not a redhead. He's supposed to have red hair - they just did a bad job of dyeing the actor's hair, so it barely shows. Maybe they figured bright red hair would look too fake on him.

The dark lighting of the show overall, didn't help either.

Speaking of Daredevil, Karen's actress Deborah Ann Woll is a natural blue-eyed ginger/strawberry blonde and in a previous role on True Blood her character was a natural redhead.
