I thought Aoi Hana was considered "S Class" yuri? As in it's all fluff and they're not really lesbians, they're just having a girlhood fling that the audience is meant to assume is going to end when they grow up and marry men.

What is "S class" in this context?

I've been watching too much One Punch Man.

Courtesy of Dee Hogan:

"Basically, Class S refers to a close emotional relationship--sometimes even defined as a crush--between two girls, usually of middle or high school age. There are a few different ways this can play out . . . a) idealize how pure and innocent young girls are by making their relationship deeply emotional but totally sexless, b) allow readers to "ship" a same-sex romance without the author actually having to commit to writing a real homosexual relationship . . . or c) is meant to titillate with implication and entendre while still insisting that the girls are interested in men."

Uh... no. You're almost definitely thinking of something else.

Aoi Hana feels like one of the only series that isn't Class S tbh.
