Kyoani style
Fairly odd fairyparents style
That one tumblr style where an adult artist fakes this "drawn by children" look after going to CalArts(it's always CalArts)

Post an example of the last one?

Since I'm not a fan of the style I don't follow any artist that employs it, so this is the closest I could find in a short search:

(reuploaded on imgur cause I don't want to invite unnecessary stuff to the artists themselves)
It's very popular and I guess I can understand people want to capture the "ultimately not good but has charm due to it's earnestness" look children's drawings have, but when an adult does it it kinda loses the earnestness part and misses the mark for me.

There are some instances where it does work though, I guess.

Ah, kateordie... I get your annoyance with the style, although I don't mind a simple style to convey ideas in comics. As somebody who likes to draw little on-the-fly comics to express pertinent ideas/emotions, it's nice.

Yeah, I'm thinking my distaste for it might also be about oversaturation and how art colleges push people into this sort of style because it's easier to get into animation if you can draw extremely simplified stuff.

Like you say it's all about context and whether an artist can use the style well enough that it doesn't take away from what they're trying to convey.

I wouldn't think either of those are trying to fake being "drawn by children." More like a level of conscious stylisation.

(I actually follow citriccomics on Tumblr, so I guess you can deplore my taste.)

Nah man, regardless of whether I like something or not it's totally fine for other people to like it! ┐(°_°)┌

I actually like Kyoani's style (mostly because it's very simple and cute without relying on gimmicky bullshit).

But I feel ya on the cutesy tumblr style. To me it just screams 'cookie-cutter art student'.
