Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Curious:

If Bernie doesn't get the nomination, do you plan to vote for Hillary? Republican? Green party? Write in Bernie? Not vote at all?

If he doesn't get the nomination, I'll probably write him in. Him or Optimus Prime.

If he doesn't get the nomination, I'll probably write him in.

How does this work exactly? If enough people wrote in Bernie Sanders, he would be elected instead of whoever was actually the dem candidate?

If you live in Colorado, Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, or Maine, you should really vote for whoever ends up being the Democratic nominee.

Otherwise, vote for Starscream, I don't give a shit.

I'm staying home. If Bernie doesn't win, I don't really care. Republicans can rape America for all I give a shit. I'm moving to Canada in 2017 anyway so it doesn't affect me.

You might as well vote for a Republican. You sound just as privileged and self-serving as one.

If he doesn't get it, I'm voting for Hillary. While I don't like her as much as I like him, she's still about 100000 times better than any of the Republicans. Considering how awful ALL of them are, I'm not taking any chances this election.

This. We don't really have a choice other than the lesser evil.

+1. Hillary Clinton could at least function as a president. The closest thing the Republicans have to a workable candidate is Rubio, and it's looking horribly like they're going to end up nominating Cruz.

Hilary. Certainly not voting for Trumpet.

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I could vote for Hillary at this point. I'd vote for Jill Stein.

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Like I said above - if you're in a swing state you should seriously consider voting for the Democratic candidate. Or at least look into vote swapping.

I voted for Jill Stein in 2012 (and will probably vote for some other left third party in 2016) but I'm in California so

Re: Question for Bernie people here

I'll vote for Hilary.

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Of course I'd vote for Hillary. I think it's irresponsible to not vote, and if anyone is pro-Sanders, then Hillary is leagues better than the alternative. And at this point, all the Republicans are exceptionally terrible. You don't have to vote for someone because you really like them, you can vote for them because they'd be the lesser of two evils. And frankly, I don't think Hillary is all that bad, even though I disagree with her on some key issues.

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I don't see how some people don't see this. Even if you don't like Hillary, you've gotta suck it up and vote for her, because if any of the Republican candidates get in the country's fucked.

You live in... somewhere in the central states, right? Not a swing state?

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I plan to vote republican if Bernie doesn't get it. Maybe if we have to suffer another Republican catastrophe it'll shake enough people to their senses to vote for his successor next time. I wouldn't vote Hilary, she is just as republican as the republican candidates and will only stain the brand by further association with them.

Hillary. I'll vote for whoever gets the Democrat nomination because the idea of any of the current Republican candidates in the White House genuinely scares me.

Re: Question for Bernie people here

I would vote for Hillary Clinton if Bernie Sanders didn't get the nomination. Clearly the people who will throw their vote away if Bernie isn't elected belong to more privileged population who won't be badly affected if a Republican is president. Can you imagine what the Supreme Court would be like with a Republican POTUS? Any progress made in the last couple of years would go down the drain. Let me put it this way: would you rather have Trump or Obama as president? If you would rather have Obama, then vote for Hillary for god's sake. I mean on some issues she's even more liberal than Obama so please

ALL OF YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID IT'S ABOUT THE SUPREME COURT

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE SCALIA CLONES

VOTE DEMOCRAT BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY WAY THE REPUBLICANS LOSE, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO THE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE IS, IT COULD BE DONALD DUCK, YOU SHOULD STILL VOTE FOR HIM

Re: Question for Bernie people here

(Anonymous) 2015-12-22 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Probably Green Party. I may be a Democrat, but I'm a progressive Democrat and very keen on socialized medicine. Hillary's low-tax, variable-fee, heavily privatized approach to public services seems designed to look corrupt, to be corrupt, and to piss off both the conservative and the progressive.

Republicans aren't wrong that making people buy private health insurance is a bad idea. Too many Democrats still don't seem to acknowledge that PPACA would have been struck down if it had been enforced any more strongly than a tax credit for compliance.

Not recognizing that makes Democrats look to the right-of-center voter like the stupid and corrupt party. And this in a system where Republicans deny science and blatantly try to lie about facts and steal elections.

Hillary's brand of politics, with its "stakeholder" mentality and insider deals, is bad for America, and makes the Democratic Party look bad.

But if the nominee is Bush or Cruz, I might still vote for her, because those guys offend me more.

I honestly don't know yet. I don't like to split the party, not when all of the Republican candidates absolutely terrify me, but Hillary has been making it hard for me to support her. I did vote for her in the 08 primary.

I'd have to be dead not to vote at all.
