Braid and Limbo are both excellent games!

None of them because I refuse to give money to Steam/Valve ever again.

Recettear

Sunless Sea

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten

Seconding the Blackwell series (point and click adventure, strong writing and characters from the get-go and increasing polish w/each iteration) and Recettear (merchant strategy/dungeon crawler mash-up w/fun translation)! Now gonna check out the other games you've rec'ed :)

I'm so happy someone else has played both of those!! I played the Blackwell series pretty recently and I was just blown away (heh).

Waiting until after the holidays to see if anything pops out.

Terraria is fun and is definitely worth a shot at $3.39. It's a 2D building/exploration game. So yeah.

I'd say if you're not 100% interested yet, I've seen it drop in price to about $1 and change before, so you might want to wait and see if it does that again.

Is Fallout 3 (GOTY)....

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
A good representation of Fallout 4? I've never played any Fallout games and since 3 is only $7, I thought it might be a good way to test if I like it or not.

I've heard 4 is a lot more actiony than the previous games. To a greater or lesser extent, all of them were at least somewhat supportive of builds that relied on negotiation, stealth, and other non-combat skills. 4 puts the combat system front and center.

Eh, having played both extensively, I don't find that to be the case at all. In most ways they are really similar; I think the biggest difference lies in the settlement management/crafting that 4 brings to the table. Definitely give 3 a shot, anon! If you like it, you'll probably like 4.

Any of the Binding of Isaac games.

BattleBlock Theater.

If you are interested in a free game, I could send you a copy of Gravity Ghost. My username is tinyblacksmith.

My whole wishlist is on sale, except for the ones that aren't released yet and Fallout 4, which I have to wait on a better computer for. It's all so cheap! I'm gonna make a really nice prison in Prison Architect and do my best to hold in the date farts in Kitty Powers' Matchmaker. lolol

Portal/Portal 2 if you've never played them, for sure. Kerbal Space Program if you're engineering-minded (or enjoy massive engineering fails). Fallout 3 or New Vegas (3 if you're more into exploration and setting-porn, NV if you're more into character development). The Stanley Parable just 'cause it's cheap and riotously funny. Civ V or Prison Architect if you're into simulation games. Long Live the Queen looks anime as fuck but it's actually a shockingly deep strategy game. The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is an insanely good mystery/suspense/mild horror game.

I hope at least one of those sounds up your alley!

My current wishlist includes:

The Coma
Sound of Drop - fall into poison
One Way Heroics Plus

Wanted, but couldn't run:

Dungeon Siege III
Sylvio

"Own" was taking too long, so I'll cut this short.
