Re: Nostalgia Games
But does anyone remember The Lion King game on Sega Genesis? God, I loved that game so much, but it was insanely difficult for me. I always died on the stampede level.
I remember really loving Yoshi's Story on N64 because of how pretty the graphics were, and all the brightly colored Yoshi's.
Super Mario 64! I'll always think of it as one of the best platformers of all time; there was so much to do! So much level variety! Fun secrets!
And Turok. Like, I was so fucking awful at Turok but it was a fun game, and I enjoyed watching my brother be better at it then I was.
Also Goldeneye 64. Was always fun to see who could get the gold gun first.
Then there's Dreamcast games like Jet Grind Radio (It's tragic there was only one more; such a unique, deliciously entertaining and stylish game), Sonic Adventure (honestly liked this better than old school Sonic games; raising and breeding chao was great too), Shenmue (BEFORE ITS TIME; MASTERPIECE) and Crazy Tazi (addictive like whoa). I'll add Space Channel 5 too for sheer craziness. (Also, the music was fantastic... And Ulala was sexy.) Those were the days.
Re: Nostalgia Games
Goldeneye! I'm not one for shooters much but the multiplayer on that was a lot of fun, it would look so basic compared to stuff you can get today(and I don't just mean the graphics but the level layouts) but I loved it. Also you only ever got to play as Oddjob once before everyone banned his use.
Re: Nostalgia Games
The Lion King was a damn good game, though! Great look, music, quite challenging so lots of replay value...
Yea, games were so different back then, especially shooters. Goldeneye wasn't a complex game, but it was an enjoyable one! Multi-player doesn't need to be super complicated to be fun, it just needs to do the basics well.

Re: Nostalgia Games
The Shy Guys are great, but I'm a big fan of the Boos too!
Re: Nostalgia Games
I always found the Stampede level easy (only because I "cheated" by staying off to one side, where the rocks wouldn't hit you,
Now, talk to me about those fucking monkeys from the second level, or that damn lava level. THOSE parts took me forEVER to figure out. After all that, I still never finished that game. I need to get me a Genesis so I can cross it off my Bucket List.
Re: Nostalgia Games
Were the monkeys the “Just can't wait to be king" level? You know, I think I'll try to watch a walkthrough of this later. I remember the levels, but vaguely. What I do know is I had more trouble with that game than with most others. It would be fun to play it again and see if it's still a challenge. Maybe there's a ROM of it by now?
