As someone who hasn't been able to afford to go to the dentist in years and definitely has cavities, I would actually feel grateful to have someone willing to help me. I have to pay for everything myself and barely scrape by, so I would definitely accept if someone offered. I'd try to do something nice in exchange, but I couldn't afford to turn it down and I think that you are fortunate to have the opportunity.

I totally get that. I guess it's just...my parents are missionaries (whole other rant on how I feel about their job which I won't go into). But it meant that all through my childhood we were living off money other people gave us and every time we came back to the US we would go around asking for money. And I always hated that. So I am grateful, it just feels uncomfortable.

I understand it feeling uncomfortable. It's how I felt having to get loans from my mother and sister for vet bills for my cat and hospital bills for me. But it had to be done, as I couldn't let my cat die and I couldn't have survived without treatment for my kidney stones. You say you are looking for a job and haven't found one, so what really are your options? You can't pay for it. And waiting will just make it get worse and more expensive to treat in addition to the pain. Obviously, the decision is up to you, but just know that other people would love to have opportunities that you have been presented.
