I did when I was 10 and almost immediately spat it out. I don't like it or any other Arab sweets at all.

Not even Baklava?

Not even Baklava :( Sometimes I'm okay with the taste or the texture of some sweets, but never both at the same time.

You could always try Aplets and Cotlets by Liberty Orchards of Washington state. It's an American form of rahat lokum (Turkish delight), made with ingredients like apples, peaches, pecans etc.

'Tis sweet with the meat of the lichee nut
Combined with the kumquat rind,
The kind of confection
To drive a man out of
His Mesopotamian mind!

And lo, if my lord feeleth faithless
And roameth by night from his room
His handmaiden fanneth her fires
And out of the pan
Riseth a tantalizing perfume...

He scenteth the scent,
He turneth his face,
His previous place
In her embrace
He does resume!

And love will consue
The while they consume
Rahad lakum!

I recommend Lokma (Loukoumades in Greece). I don't like most Turkish sweets like Baklava, but put a plate of Lokma in front of me and there won't be a single one left. They are delicious.

What?! OMG. I flooooooove Baklava.

And is Baklava Arab? I thought it was Greek?

It's kind of complicated. Both the Greeks and the Turks claim baklava, but desserts like it are all over the region, including Iran.
