Honestly, neither of the ones with 60,000-word stories got as "interesting" as some of the shorter writers. One of them wrote a story that offended me on so many levels I no longer felt comfortable reading their work--it's difficult to explain why without getting into the intricacies of my abuse-of-power squick. (Attempts to justify and excuse abuse of power are my most frequent reason for staring at the screen in horror when trying to read My Little Pony fanfics. I blame the creepy monarchists who came in from heroic fantasy fandom, and to a lesser extent, the military sci-fi fans who somehow got into FIM from Spacebattles.) The other posted stories less and less frequently, posted self-pitying blog posts more and more frequently, and hinted more and more blatantly that she needed her fans to keep praising her and saying good things about her so she wouldn't give up and stop writing. The last time I checked on her, she hadn't updated a story in a year, but the self-pitying blog posts and blatant fan flattery kept rolling in.

Oh lord, Spacebattles. Fucking. Spacebattles. As someone who wanders around Fate/Stay Night fandom and others where that particular site is pandemic, I feel your pain.
