The prologue with Mewtwo in the Japanese version was AMAZING and really really dark, not just by Pokemon standards but by any standards IMO.

The rest of the movie was okay except for the scene pictured, which made me cry my eyes out in both versions because I am a dork like that. Especially when Pikachu repeatedly tries to shock Ash back to life...
