I may have to watch the original version of Pokemon. I recently marathoned Digimon Adventure to watch Tri. It was the first time I watched the Japanese version, and I liked it better than the dub, which I remember nearly seemed to be almost a gag dub at times. I still really like some of the songs from the dub movie OST though. I have some on my ipod. I imagine Pokemon will probably be the same for me.

I *think* Pokemon the series was actually mostly very faithful to the original except when it came to transparent localizations (eg, yeah they're ttly donuts and not at all rice balls sure).

But the movie was a different story. The entire plot and the movie's main moral/message was changed, and a lot of really dark and ambiguous stuff about Mewtwo's origin and morality and motivations were changed or cut out.
