Because at first I got a sense of "okay... someone trying to reclaim the innocent wholesomeness of children" and then right at the end it went to creepy ravishing.

No, you're backwards. Look at any case of a female teacher fucking one of her male students. All the comments are about how "lucky" the boy is and "I wish I could be in her class hur hurrr." When it's a man and a girl, there'll be people who say the girl is lying but there are also lots of people who defend her and are disgusted with the man, while almost nobody does that when it's a woman and a boy.
