I'm watching Rear Window on tv right now and I'm reminded of how much I love Thelma Ritter. She didn't appear in a screen role until she was 45. Her entire movie and tv career career, she was in her 40s and 50s.

See, that I can understand. IRL you'd often come to a realization like that and just decide it isn't healthy and come to terms with it yourself, but since this is a film... Yea, share it and try to move on.

I don't know why, but I never grasped that. (Granted, I only saw the film once, but I somehow got it in my head that he was trying to change her mind, which made him a totally shitty friend.)

It wouldn't be possible to have less Bones! Not unless he's in the background the whole film and his one scene is in the trailer, lol.

Maybe there will be a good balance of action and character moments. That's what I want, too. (And I'd like a more story driven film as well.)

Poor Chris Pine, lol. I love Pine; I've watched a fair share of his movies, but have a lot left to go. He's a good actor, though! If I have any issues with AOS Kirk it's because of the script, not him.

I kinda agree to an extent, with Death Note that doesn't particularly hinge itself on Japanese culture besides "shinigami" which is a broad in-universe concept, to make an American version isn't terrible. but it should be raceblind casting in that case, America is diverse and the fact that all American remakes translate to "all white" is just plain old racist Hollywood. I would definitely mind remakes less if they actualy made an attempt to represent America.
