My main problem with people talking about other people's looks all the time is that it has no real reflection on who they are as a person.

It's also irritating from a female perspective because women are more often defined by their looks and that's usually ALL people want to discuss when certain actresses are concerned. If we could start talking about people's other traits as much as their looks it probably wouldn't bother me.

This. My real problem with people fixating on someone being "ugly" is that it tells me either: a) looks are important to their overall opinion of someone or, b) if you want your looks to unimportant to them, you have to earn it by making them like you enough first.
