I have come across too many people in fandom that fly into rages if you dare break a canon f/f ship--even if it's to pair them with other girls. I don't understand that at all.

Even so, there are some good fandoms out there that support multiple f/f ships.

Fandom in general has a tendency to get attached to things that it ships. I don't see how that's specific to f/f.
