(Anonymous) 2016-01-05 01:24 am (UTC)(link)If I recall correctly, PTSD is most likely to develop if a) it is completely unexpected and worldview-shattering to the person who undergoes the traumatic event (like violent assaults/rapes, serious natural disasters, car accidents or fires, that come out of nowhere) or b) if the traumatic events and any related danger and stress is long-term and constant (combat zones, abusive environments, long-term post-disaster or refugee situations) or - to a lesser extent - c) if the person doesn't have any good emotional support system that can neutralize the impact of trauma on the brain. None of these apply to Ash.
I could well be wrong though, so don't take this as an expert opinion or anything.
