I get you but it sounds shitty to say. I mean, I'm having a bitch of a time finding a job after I finished school this past summer so I'm thinking about taking anything at this point.

Going from no job to a job IS ambition though. I would think that counts for OP so long as you're not content to settle for being a server forever. They sound like they mean the people who are content to settle

I see. I understand that. I don't think there's anything wrong with just wanting to live comfortably but if you're ambitious, it would probably be difficult to get serious with someone who's not.

OP and yeah, that's what I meant. There's a difference between taking low end jobs because times are tough, or you're in between jobs, or whatever. But my hope would be that my partner is setting themself up to do more, still applying for better jobs or going to school or whatever and ultimately trying to improve themselves and their skills and looking for better opportunities, rather than "nah I'm fine at McDonald's forever."
