I saw the trailer for the movie and it looked like it might be one of those cases where the characters are "totally in love" and you never, ever know or see WHY. I can't stand Rooney Mara but Cate Blanchett being in it is pretty much a guarantee I'll see it though (plus period clothing and Todd Haynes is an okay director).

X-Files rip-offs are worse than most ripoffs because that Mulder/Scully casting and characterization was a one-of-a-kind lightning in a bottle thing. EVERYTHING similar to it looks bad next to it. Good ripoffs look mediocre, and mediocre ripoffs look shitty.

I feel the same way! Though I like Ashley a bit better because her not-awful traits warmed her up to me, I guess? (though I killed her off anyway since I was romancing Kaidan at the time, which is something I totally regretted by ME3, considering how obnoxious he gets over Shepard "cheating" on him)
