I actually like Ashley, I think the space racist part of her personality is overblown and something she largely gets over by the end of the series (she even condemns Cerberus for their xenophobia, iirc?) She's still prejudiced against the geth, though, so I guess still a space racist, just... towards synthetics and not all aliens. I don't want to romance her and she's far from my favorite, but by the end her friendship with my f!Shep seemed well earned imo.

Kaidan seemed sweet, but rather boring... I suppose I can't judge because I haven't played through with him alive yet, though. Enough people love the Shenko romances that I kinda want to try them, but there's other characters I like much more that I'm more likely to romance first.

Ashley largely gets over it by the end of the first game, and talking to her reveals she's kind of angry because of the suffering her dad I think went through?

I recently did a replay of the series, and iirc Ash only condemns Cerberus for all that shit they did in the first game, not for being xenophobic. I'm pretty sure the topic of her view on aliens is just sort of tabled after you compare her view points to those of the Terra Firma party in the first game. I usually save Kaidan so I don't remember fully if there are any convos about her thoughts on alien squad mates after Horizon. Lemme know if I'm missing something.
