That sounds sadly typical. Brennan's personality and characteristics have always been suspiciously malleable depending on what the writers needed that week. So one day she'd be so out of touch with reality and other human beings she doesn't know how to talk to grieving parents, then next week she's so good at relationships she manages to have healthy FWB hookups with hot guys who aren't psychos. The writing on this show has always been a weak link, IMO.
