Hahaha, the few times I've house sat, one of the first things I do is close ALL of the binds/curtains in the house.

I'm not one who is usually afraid of the dark, but damn do I creeped out something fierce at someone else's place.

That and, even though it can spike a utility bill, I usually turn on as many lights as I can at night. Or as many as is reasonable. Then, when it's time for sleep, I go to the farthest part of the house and turn off the lights as I go.
