I have NEVER understood what is supposed to be so great about this book! I read it in English class senior year of high school. I usually loved that class, but I just could not get into this book no matter what.

I LOVED Crime and Punishment. I thought it was so powerful.

I take it you're religious?

If you don't go in as a believer, that ending is full of shit.

I'm religious but the ending is my least favorite part. I love the rest of it.

Ok? I didn't say religious people couldn't like the rest of the book, and I didn't say all religious people would like the end. But being religious is kind of a requirement to like the ending, i.e. some religious people like it, some religious people don't, but I'd be hard-pressed to believe any non-religious person would.

SA

And considering the anon called it "powerful" I'm assuming the ending is what they're talking about. There wasn't much else I would consider potentially "powerful" - whether negatively or positively - about the book.
