Lots of people honestly believe you can choose the sex of your baby just by wanting it. I thought for years that they were just kidding when they said things like "I don't plan on having kids, but if I get pregnant somehow, it's definitely going to a boy!" But then people kept being sincere about it and I read an article written by a woman who had a crisis when she got an ultrasound and found out her baby wasn't what she wanted it to be. She actually thought there must have been a mistake in the reading, because she'd never have a girl! (And yeah for some reason, it was almost always boys that the women I encountered who thought like that wanted.)

I read somewhere that appleseeds can guarantee a baby boy

but seeing as they contain cyanide... lol

Nothing can "guarantee" you a specific gender in your baby.
