I mainly ship Poe/Finn, but sometimes their ship gets a bit too fluffy. I'm sure once fandom's had some time, once we know more about them, we'll get stuff with more meat, but now it's all sweetness and light it seems.

So, I think that's why I first read a Poe/Kylo fic. I didn't understand why anyone would ship them first, until someone brought up the possibility of them having been friends once. Because I do want that background in fics. Or I've read one where they only really met after he's been redeemed and start to become friends. I like that idea too.

Anyway, I don't think you should feel too bad. Every ship has different dynamics. Even if they seem very similar on the surface, there's probably a difference somewhere. You wouldn't judge someone else for shipping what they ship (hopefully?), so why should you judge yourself?
