Yes. I think a lot of people miss this point about Simpson. The attempted killing wasn't his fault, but I'm not sure it makes him a "good guy" given the way he behaved afterward. It's a pretty nuanced depiction though, so I guess that's why not everyone gets that.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 12:19 am (UTC)(link)because he'd had his identity violated in a super insidious way, he's traumatized, and like - it's not like he can talk to an ACTUAL therapist, and the only other person who has any clue what's going on is Jess, who has zero interest in listening to him
but as the show went on he *consistently* valued his own perceived 'heroism' over trish's wishes and obvious growing discomfort, actually getting worse instead of better, leading to the decision to go back on the pills in the first place - yeah, he's a dude who flat out does not respect her as a person, violates hella boundaries, and the red flag was there early
